Lindsay (Izzy) Deschamps competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 7 Yamaha Sports Ride for her own team, Lemonjello (Named after her fake pet lizard).
Deschamps was 13th fastest in 1st practice, 34th fastest in 2nd practice, and 29th fastest in 3rd practice. She started 8th in Heat 1, in which she finished 9th. At the Last Chance Qualifier, Deschamps started 13th and finished 10th, failing to advance to the main event.
Deschamps was 39th fastest in qualifying. She started 20th (last place) in Duel 1 and finished 17th. In the Daytona 500, Deschamps started 33rd and was absent at the conclusion of stage 1 and 2. However, in the closing laps she charged through the field to catch up to race leader Jon Turner, who got loose and got shuffled to the back. Deschamps, who was right behind him, took the lead with a bump from Wyatt Bench to win the race having led only one lap, the final lap.
