Cowan was 4th fastest in 1st practice, 33rd fastest in 2nd practice, and 19th fastest in 3rd practice. He started in 5th place in Heat 3. Despite getting wrecked by Kasen Kelander with 5 laps to go, Cowan beat out Kelander to finish 3rd and advanced to the main event. At the main event, Cowan started 11th and finished 12th.

Daytona 500

Cowan was 3rd fastest in qualifying, moving on to the second round where he was 2nd fastest, securing a front-row spot in the Daytona 500. Cowan started 2nd in Duel 1.
